Evidence of the Afterlife, by Dr. Jeffrey Long, M.D., the book that has been getting national publicity as a doctor who studied 1,300 patients in the largest such study ever concludes that the spirit leaves the body after death and presents gripping accounts of what happens in near-death experiences -- 'phenomenal job,' noted major researcher.  CLICK HERE

THERE ARE LIVING WATERS IN THE AFTERLIFE AND WHEN WE HAVE LOVE WE TAP INTO THEIR HEALING

Does the Holy Spirit flow through you? Do you benefit from God's "waters"? In Heaven there are what they describe as bodies of water that seem alive. They minister. They heal. They cleanse. We'll get to how we tap into it in a moment.

In some depictions, the water of Heaven, of the afterlife, seems to generate music -- each drop with a tone and melody in harmony with music that comes through the air and from everything in praise of God.

There are lakes. There are rivers. There are waterfalls. There are fountains. There are ponds -- crystal clear.

"I could hear the ripple and tinkle of many waters," said a woman named Susan Burt -- who "died" of complications accompanying childbirth.

"There was sparkling water, fountains," added another individual.

"I went down these steps into a delightful water," said a man named William Pelley. "The bath did something to me in the way of clothing. What, I don't know. But I immediately came up garbed."

That garb is described as a robe of the purest white, like a combination of spun glass and spun cotton. Is not water represented in Divine Mercy?

"Water is present in the 'countryside' of the [afterlife] in all its forms and varieties," write Dr. Craig R. Lundahl and Dr. Harold A. Widdison, two scholars who have studied near-death experiences. "This includes trickling brooks, streams, rivers, mirror-like ponds, and lakes."

As a woman named Marietta Davis recounted, water flowed through "marble channels or through beds of golden sands, while others rose to lofty heights and then flowed into glowing streams or sprouted from a sea of fountains inside a city. In the countryside, it may be a pond or lake with waters that heal the spirit and exude a melody, acting alive."

Living waters.

It reminds us of Ezekiel -- when an angel brought him "to the entrance of the temple of the Lord, and I saw water flowing out from beneath the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the fašade of the temple was toward the east; the water flowed down from the right side of the temple, south of the altar. He led me outside by the north gate, and around to the outer gate facing the east, where I saw water trickling from the right side" (47:1).

In John 4: 10 Jesus says, "If you knew the gift of God, and Who it is Who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."

"For My people have committed two evils," says the Lord in Jeremiah 2:13. "They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water."

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water," adds Jesus in John 7:38.

How do we tap into that? How do we have it flow through us? How do we maintain the flow of baptismal waters?

We know that believing in Christ is crucial and with that is love. Love is the greatest means of having God's Power flow through us. It flows when we forgive. It flows when we have empathy -- when every time we think of a bad thing that has occurred to someone else we immediately place ourselves in their shoes and consider that but for the grace of God the same could happen to us. It flows when we are sensitive, when we are humble. It flows when we instantly step back from every negative, judgmental thought. It flows when we pray for others and put ourselves in their place while praying to avoid the same evil or ailment ourselves.

When a person is sick we pray for them and also to root out sickness in us; when we pray for another's deliverance, we pray for our own deliverance as well. When we sense a spirit around someone, we pray for deliverance from that spirit at the same time that we pray to detach any spirits that may hover over ourselves.

This gets the Spirit flowing.

Be meek. Let not anger come into your life. Remember that the Bible tells us the meek inherit the earth and that the wrath of man does not bring the righteousness of God. Don't honk the horn when you get mad (unless there is danger)!

When we are sensitive, we have God on our side. When we do His Will, we go with the flow -- while the opposite occurs with a thick skin. Pride is the hide. We don't want leather around us.

The water flows when we seek to renew the spirit of our minds.

Call it conversion: changing the way we think of people and things in conformance with God.

When we convert, we also detach from darkness -- which may mean shedding "friends" who cause a negative orientation (seen first by confusion, which muddies the pond). Put on the new you. Put on a pure robe -- washed in the fountains of Heaven.

Those waters flow when we are in such a state of grace as to pray for others who are in trouble with no judgment at the same time as we pray out the same faults in our own spirits. This is true cleansing!

If we don't remove the "log" in our own eyes, there is no flow; we create a logjam. Love brings the Force of the Lord gushing around us!

As we write, ironically, comes the annual message this year to seer Mirjana Soldo of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina: "Dear children! Today I call you to love with all your heart and with all your soul. Pray for the gift of love, because when the soul loves it calls my Son to itself. My Son does not refuse those who call him and who desire to live according to him. Pray for those who do not comprehend love, who do not understand what it means to love. Pray that God may be their Father and not their Judge. My children, you be my apostles, be my river of love. I need you. Thank you."
