to Earth (Michael Brown)
Throughout the centuries, since Noah, there have been strange times: periods
when floods, earthquakes, tidal waves, storms, droughts, plagues, volcanoes, and
even asteroid or comet activity have haunted the earth.
The hints are right there in the nightly news. It's about to happen again.
God is poised to send major events, and it's for a simple reason. Like the
people in ancient times, we've allowed evil to build up, and as a result we
face happenings everywhere.
This is the book Mother Angelica has called 'awesome.' As featured
too by Archbishop Philip Hannan of New Orleans.
For your discernment:
FROM THE MAIL: UNNERVING SOUNDS RECORDED WORLDWIDE REMIND SOME OF ANCIENT ISRAELI HORN
The are a number of items in the mailbag, some of them perhaps quirky. Weirdness or signs?
Let's start, briefly, with that strange case whereby school girls in Upstate New York are showing bizarre nervous disorders, including tics, jerking limbs, and blurting out uncontrolled, inappropriate words. The cases have spread, so that there are now at least fifteen.
While similar (and even larger) outbreaks in Africa seemed more clearly paranormal (re: demonic), a psychiatric expert who analyzed the New York eruption says it's the result of a "conversion disorder" (better known as mass hysteria). And now, most recently, a famous crusader, Erin Brockovich, whose corporate whistle-blowing was once the subject of a famous movie, has sent investigators claiming it may be due to toxic chemicals that were spilled in 1970 during a train accident in the area. Maybe. Maybe not. State health officials say they have detected no environmental agents that could be the cause, and the spill was three miles away (with the groundwater moving in a plume in the opposite direction from the school, at least according to authorities); meanwhile, the chemical in question is one that has caused no similar neurological effects when it has been found at small levels in contaminated households (such as Love Canal) and was widely used by dry cleaners, but we'll put this for now in the "suspense account": to be determined (for now, maintaining the similarity to those African cases). Could it be a combination of various factors, including spiritual ones (evil exacerbates weaknesses)?
Then there are those "chem-trails."
It's interesting how many people of a Catholic mystical bent are interested in claims that jets are spraying some sort of material in the atmosphere, unbeknownst to the public, perhaps in an attempt to control the weather or some other, more nefarious, and less plausible reason. Most photographs of "chem-trails" look like jet contrails that are simply more stationary and visible on crisp, windless days. But again: there are some cases in which the "contrails" do seem unusual. We already know, and the government never has hidden, the fact that weather control has been attempted on a very localized scale in the U.S. and other nations and that there are proposals to inject sulfates higher up (the stratosphere) in an effort to combat perceived climate warming. Nothing that unnatural seems like a good idea.
There are strange objects. Mostly, we get reports (constantly) of lights in the sky. Most recently, they say there is a large inexplicable man-made object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. A Russian exploratory vessel? (Or an artifact of sonar?)
The most intriguing current discussion may be all the strange and often eerie sounds that have been recorded around the world -- unusual echo-like buzzing, rumbling, and other effects, thus far largely unexplained (and largely unverified). We have warned that some could be a hoax -- or a viral outbreak of hoaxes. Oh, the internet! But in many cases, witnesses are credible (including a mayor in one town) and they have even been the subject of local news reports. The acoustics have been recorded thanks to the proliferation of audio-video comments in cell phones. Dozens have reported them. Thousands have served as witnesses.
"Mysterious 'hum' returns to plague residents of Windsor, Ontario," said a recent headline in the National Post (one of the Canada's most prestigious newspapers).
In fact, the tally of significant incidents now stands (at least according to one blog closely tabulating it) at 140 since September of 2008, the vast majority coming, however, since mid-January of this new year.
We listened to a few dozens of them. There is the far-off bass-drum effect recorded in Slovakia, the metallic jungle-like echoes in Saskatoon, the heavy buzzing-screeching noise in London, the long and nearly musical vibration in Alberta, the otherworld, ET-like echoes in Cambridge, the eerie low-banshee-like sound in Illinois, the swishing as if distant metallic tires in Queens, New York, the very disconcerting scraping, horn-like, nearly trumpet sound in North Battleford (this one of the most impressive cases), the high-resonance creature-echo in King City (Ontario), the high frequencies in Michigan, the low string-instrument-and-tuba-like sounds in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, the low rattling rumbling in northern Louisiana.... and so forth.
In some cases, dogs, cats, birds, and animals have reacted to the noises, often heard late at night (when regular noise calms) or out in the boondocks. Car alarms have also gone off in connection with the reverberations. In many cases, it brings to mind the sounds from that spaceship in Close Encounters (or the opening sounds in Star Wars). In Czechoslovakia it was like a metallic bass vibration. Others have described what they heard as like "hell's bells." While they span the entire Western hemisphere, they seem especially frequent from the mid-Atlantic states in the U.S. (starting as south as Virginia) up through Michigan and Illinois to central Canada.
Is it just sensitivity to the hype of the year 2012? It is certainly a phenomenon of some sort -- whether or not some are fake and with others we can come to a natural explanation. Having ruled out most obvious explanations (heavy equipment, sonic booms, distant traffic, factory noise, quakes, sewer gas), the most popular theory from scientists is that it's caused by electromagnetism emitted by the aurora borealis ("northern lights") that have been rather intense of late due to the radiation from a pronounced solar flare on the sun. Scientists claim some people can hear such vibrations while others cannot.
If it is natural, this is very interesting on several counts.
It was an "unprecedented" display of the northern lights from Europe to the U.S. and Canada on January 25, 1938, that Sister Lucia dos Santos of Fatima said served as the great sign prophesied to her by the Blessed Mother in 1917 as the harbinger of a great coming war (which arrived soon after, when Hitler swept into Austria).
There was also a strong display of the aurora -- from the Arctic to California, and even Texas -- just after September 11 (and before the two subsequent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan).
Another intriguing aspect: auroras and other strange aerial lights are often seen in connection with earthquakes.
Are the strange sounds from the sky ("skyquakes") -- or from the deep earth? Is it the aurora or is something about to come from the depths? Might the earth's core (which scientists have never even been able to definitively characterize, because they can "see" no deeper than a few miles), be out of alignment? Does solar activity cause a gravitational pull that trigger the planet's crusts -- or do quakes generate an electrical charge that manifests in the atmosphere?
There have been rumbling sounds in the ground in a number of the places (including in the Midwest) that have experienced recent small quakes. (Watch for volcanic indicators, if it is something closer to the surface.)
Earth, sky, and wind: admittedly, some of the sounds are nearly like an invasion. And there is an impressive difference between most of them -- a difference, and yet a similarity. Perhaps the auroras are "ringing" our atmosphere.
"We have analyzed records of these sounds and found that most of their spectrum lies within the infrasound range, i.e. is not audible to humans," says a scientist named Elchin Khalilov. "What people hear is only a small fraction of the actual power of these sounds. They are low-frequency acoustic emissions in the range between 20 and 100 Hz modulated by ultra-low infrasonic waves from 0.1 to 15 Hz. In geophysics, they are called acoustic-gravity waves; they are formed in the upper atmosphere, at the atmosphere-ionosphere boundary in particular. There can be quite a lot of causes why those waves are generated: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, storms, tsunamis, etc. However, the scale of the observed humming sound in terms of both the area covered and its power far exceeds those that can be generated by the above-mentioned phenomena.
"In that case, what could be causing
this humming in the sky?
"In our opinion, the source of such powerful and immense manifestation of acoustic-gravity waves must be very large-scale energy processes. These processes include powerful solar flares and huge energy flows generated by them, rushing towards Earth's surface and destabilizing the magnetosphere, ionosphere and upper atmosphere. Thus, the effects of powerful solar flares: the impact of shock waves in the solar wind, streams of corpuscles and bursts of electromagnetic radiation are the main causes of generation of acoustic-gravitation waves following increased solar activity."
Is there (as in 1938) a prophetic element?
Another, obscure prophecy, the purported 1990 one (an anonymous locution we have often written about), said something extremely interesting when -- referring to coming events -- it said that "chastisements will differ according to regions, and like the great evil, will not always or usually be immediately noticeable for what they are. In the period also will be a warning that involves not fire from the sky but fear of fire from the sky, and strange loud rumblings." Many of the auroras look like fire from the heavens, of course, and there is concern -- not yet fear -- that a solar flare could erupt to such an extent as to take down our entire electrical grid (something that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration experts told us, in an extreme case, is indeed a possibility).
Perhaps most intriguingly, metaphorically: at least one blogger has noted how certain of the strange global echoes resemble (if at different speeds) the wind instrument called the "shofar," traditionally fashioned from the horns of the ram and used in ancient Israel. The blast of a shofar emanating from the thick cloud on Mount Sinai made the Israelites tremble in awe (Exodus 19, 16). And the echoes you hear on many of those videos do bear a somewhat unnerving (if not always exact) resemblance. There are four main sounds from the shofar, one of which is known as the awakening blast, another warning of the approach of the enemy.
The shofar was sometimes used in conjunction with the trumpet.
And that causes us to recall a book we ourselves produced on prophecy called The Trumpet of Gabriel (which included accounts of those who claimed to run into mysterious strangers -- angels -- who told them Gabriel was about to sound his trumpet; we also note that right after 9/11, people down at the site of the World Trade Center claimed to see a mysterious man playing a trumpet inside the restricted area).
So our times are intriguing -- more than ever, and far beyond the rumblings of politics, which have become a sports event. And so it is that the mystical perspective -- hard to pin -- is seldom boring. We do urge, because some of these sounds seem sinister, not to immerse oneself in them.
"I've been reading the comments about rumblings and groaning sounds that people are hearing," noted a second viewer from Colorado (where there have been small tremors and those strange sounds). "I came across this quote in Maria Valtorta’s writings (book form), The End Times. I know she is controversial, but it seems to speak to our times: 'You will walk as on ground shaken by a tremendous earthquake. Indeed, the earth quakes under your steps because, though it is but a planet, it is more of a child of the Creator than you are, and it sees God’s angry Face staring at this land, the same as when He looked at His children deserving the Flood (Genesis 6:17) and the fire (Genesis 19:23-25), and it begins to quake deep down for fear of His punishment. Material and intellectual values have been thrown into confusion and stripped of their just essence. Knowledge has become a hindrance instead of a help. Even the holy knowledge of God has become a condemnation because, although you know it, you disown it” (December 29, 1943). That section is of her 'revelations' (and you really need to be cautious) was entitled 'The Collapse of Italy,' and has a note prefacing the text: 'Though this text is specifically addressed to Italy, much of it unfortunately applies to many other countries.'"
Indeed, we do have to be discerning -- open and yet careful not to jump the prophetic gun. (The bigger problem: lack of openness.) A group of researchers from the Fujita Corporation cite a technique that in its words measures "changes in the earth’s electric field prior to an earthquake. A group of researchers in from Russia and Japan believe that similar changes can be noted in the earth’s background noise in the low, very low, and extremely low frequency bands. The details in print are very few; the authors stated in 1991 that they were on the verge of submitting major papers to various journals, but nothing further was published between 1991 and 1996. Nevertheless the possibility that VLF noise represents a significant precursor to earthquakes was evaluated by the IASPEI in its most recent meeting (the findings of which appeared in Pure and Applied Geophysics, 1997)."
"Dear Sir," wrote Dwight Arnott. "As I listened to the various tapes of odd noises around the world it struck me that the noises sound somewhat similar to the trumpets sounded at the temple in Jerusalem. Do you suppose they could be the trumpets presaging events related in the book of Revelation?"
Here we go back to the 1990 prophecy, an "addendum" to which intoned:
"Heed this too: the politics of denial will be struck as with a plague.
"The smallest of what lives is precious in My sight.
"The angels have their instruction from east to west, and now a timetable has been set in motion.
"When the huge light is seen, I will act in a way I have not acted before."
